Revolut, 3 other firms join UK stablecoin regulatory sandbox

Britain's Financial Conduct Authority is running a stablecoin regulatory sandbox and has selected four companies, including Revolut, as test participants, Cointelegraph reported on Feb. 25. The other firms are Monee Financial Technologies, ReStabilise and VVTX. The FCA plans to allow them to test a range of use cases, including stablecoin issuance and payments and cryptocurrency trading. Testing will begin in the first quarter of 2026, with results to feed into UK stablecoin rules later that year.

Taiwan semiconductor fabs: 68 percent face equipment compatibility bottlenecks, opening door for South Korean suppliers

About 68 percent of Taiwan fabs are facing bottlenecks due to compatibility problems between equipment, creating openings for South Korean suppliers. As Taiwan runs a 15.4 billion Taiwan dollar semiconductor automation programme and TSMC builds more new plants, demand for logistics automation is rising. Proprietary functions and standards, especially around FOUP interfaces and OHT integration, are raising complexity and total cost of ownership. South Korean firms are offering AI and robotics-based integrated control solutions.

KOSA designated as statutory AI promotion body alongside software role

South Korea's Korea Artificial Intelligence & Software Industry Association (KOSA) has been officially designated a statutory body covering the AI sector, in addition to its existing statutory role in software. The Ministry of Science and ICT announced the designation under the Basic AI Act after KOSA completed the application process and won approval. KOSA, founded in 1988, has recently expanded AI activities and plans to perform roles set out in the law.
