Korea crypto trading value slumps 89% as KOSPI jumps 114%, retail money shifts to stocks

Crypto card daily spending hits record high as Visa network and regulatory overhaul drive growth

Daily spending on cryptocurrency payment cards hit a record $36.82 million on July 20. Data showed usage has roughly tripled over the past year even as major crypto prices moved sideways. KAST led daily card payments with $13.64 million, briefly overtaking Hong Kong stablecoin payments firm RedotPay, though the lead flipped back within 24 hours. Johnson & Johnson's Ottava surgical robot wins U.S. FDA approval

Johnson & Johnson has secured U.S. marketing approval for its Ottava surgical robot system, marking its official entry into the robotic surgery market. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted approval through the De Novo pathway, allowing use of Ottava in 10 types of general surgery involving the upper abdomen, including gastrectomy and cholecystectomy. The approval may intensify competition in a market long dominated by Intuitive Surgical's da Vinci system, alongside Medtronic.
