Foundry to launch Zcash mining pool for institutions
Digital asset infrastructure firm Foundry will launch a Zcash mining pool in April 2026, Cointelegraph reported on Tuesday. The pool will target institutions and listed mining companies and operate from the United States using the same infrastructure as Foundry USA Pool. Foundry plans to add reporting tools and a payout system. A Foundry spokesperson said financial privacy and regulatory compliance can coexist.

Mastercard launches crypto partner program with Binance, Ripple among participants
Mastercard has launched a global cryptocurrency partner program, Cointelegraph reported on March 11. The program includes more than 85 companies such as Binance, Ripple and PayPal. Mastercard plans to build a blockchain-based payments network linking digital assets with the payments industry. Participants will cooperate to enable practical roles for cryptocurrencies in cross-border transfers, settlement and commercial payments. Mastercard said digital assets have entered a new stage.

FDIC chair says stablecoin deposits not eligible for insurance even under GENIUS Act
FDIC Chair Travis Hill said stablecoin deposits will not be protected by U.S. deposit insurance even if the GENIUS Act takes effect, Cointelegraph reported on Tuesday. In prepared remarks for an American Bankers Association summit in Washington, Hill said the government would not guarantee stablecoin deposits and issuers could not claim FDIC insurance. He also said the FDIC plans to block pass-through insurance via third parties.
