TwelveLabs launches Pegasus 1.6 video understanding model, expands beyond media to physical AI

Multimodal video understanding AI company TwelveLabs said on Tuesday it has launched Pegasus 1.6, a vision-language model designed to understand egocentric data, or first-person video. The company said the model supports automating tasks needed to turn such footage into robot training data by segmenting scenes and analyzing actions and interactions. It supports five functions including action segmentation and labeling, dense caption labeling, quality scoring, search and curation, and consent and compliance flagging.

Anthropic overhauls cybersecurity program, expands Mythos access to all participants

Anthropic has expanded and overhauled its cybersecurity access program to allow more security professionals to use its top-tier Claude models, The Information reported. Under the changes, all participants in the Cyber Verification Program can use Mythos for certain cyber uses, access previously limited to Project Glasswing participants. The program is now divided into defensive, red-team and specialized access tiers, with Glasswing in the highest tier.

Microsoft, Meta to sharply cut in-house Claude spending

Microsoft and Meta, two major corporate customers of Anthropic, are cutting employees’ use of Claude, The Information reported on Oct. 6. Microsoft reduced an early-year projection for internal Claude spending by more than a third by urging staff to use its own AI tools and by shifting usage through GitHub Copilot, which largely routes queries to OpenAI models. Meta’s Claude Code users also fell, as internal coding tools expanded.
