Japan's Metaplanet seeks to set up 'Superplanet' treasury platform with 2,100 bitcoin investment

Japan's bitcoin treasury company Metaplanet plans to invest 2,100 bitcoin to establish a U.S. bitcoin treasury platform. Through a deal with U.S. digital advertising and gaming media company Super League, it plans to rename the company Superplanet while keeping its Nasdaq listing and SUPA ticker. Metaplanet will also contribute $2.5 million in cash via its U.S. unit. It expects the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Anthro Energy breaks ground on U.S. battery materials plant to pave way for all-solid-state batteries

U.S. battery materials company Anthro Energy has broken ground on an electrolyte production plant in Louisville, Kentucky, with annual capacity of 25 GWh. The company aims to supply materials for more than 300,000 electric vehicles and build a U.S. battery materials supply chain that reduces reliance on China. The plant targets a 2028 start-up. Federal and state support includes U.S. Department of Energy funding and tax credits, as well as Kentucky incentives tied to 110 permanent jobs.

KB Kookmin Bank's KB Kookmin Certificate users top 18 million

KB Kookmin Bank said cumulative users of its private authentication certificate, KB Kookmin Certificate, have surpassed 18 million. The bank said the user base has expanded since the certificate was recognised as an electronic signature certification service provider in 2021. Users rose by 1 million in a year, after topping 17 million in August last year. The certificate can be issued without visiting a branch and is used for authentication, e-signatures and identity verification.
