National AI Strategy Committee discusses South Korea-France AI cooperation with Mistral

South Korea's National AI Strategy Committee met French AI company Mistral to discuss ways to expand public-private cooperation between South Korea and France. The committee said its vice chair Lim Moon-young and presidential AI planning secretary Ha Jung-woo met Mistral CEO Arthur Mensch at his request while he was visiting South Korea with President Emmanuel Macron. They discussed implementing an AI strategy package agreed at a summit and strengthening partnerships for South Korea's AI G3 push.

Tech Insight: Why software supply chains are being breached quickly amid the spread of AI coding

A widely used software package, Axios, was hacked after attackers took over a maintainer account, added a new dependency and shipped an update. The added package installed a tailored remote-access trojan and erased traces, while many security tools failed to flag it. Andreessen Horowitz partners said the case shows software supply-chain risk rising as AI coding spreads. They cited research finding AI agents more often pick vulnerable versions and enable new attacks such as slopsquatting, while detection remains slow in the industry.

KT CEO Park Yoon-young makes first regional visit, meets staff in South Jeolla and North Jeolla

KT CEO Park Yoon-young (박윤영) visited South Jeolla and North Jeolla on his first regional schedule since taking office. KT said on Thursday he visited KT Sinan Tower and KT Gwangju Tower in Gwangju, where units including the Western Network Operations Division, the Western Corporate Customer Division and KT CS are located. The visit followed his management policy to pursue clear growth based on KT’s growth and business identity.
