Apple has joined hands with Google to strengthen its AI features. It also tested technology from OpenAI and Anthropic, but ultimately chose Google's Gemini. The two companies are reported to have signed a deal worth about 1 trillion won.
TechCrunch reported on Jan. 12 that Apple plans to strengthen AI features using Google's Gemini model and cloud technology. The cooperation is not an exclusive deal, and Apple still plans to continue developing its own AI.
Apple unveiled Apple Intelligence in 2024 and integrated AI into its operating system, but improvements to Siri have continued to be delayed.
Apple said a Siri upgrade is planned for this year. TechCrunch reported that the revamped Siri is likely to be released this year.
