Lee Hae-min (이해민), a Rebuilding Korea Party lawmaker chosen as the new Blue House senior secretary for AI future planning, stressed she will serve as a "control tower" linking the national AI strategy to industrial innovation and service changes the public can feel.

Lee said in a Facebook post on Saturday after the Blue House personnel announcement that she believes South Korea must use AI to raise national strength by another level. She said she will move from being a lawmaker to a Blue House official and play a control tower role in steering the Lee Jae-myung administration's national AI strategy toward domestic industrial innovation and service changes the public can feel.

Lee is an AI and IT specialist with experience in both industry and politics. She worked as a product manager at Google Korea and at Google's U.S. headquarters, and served as chief product officer at OpenSurvey. She entered politics in 2024 as a recruited talent for the Rebuilding Korea Party, won a seat in the 22nd National Assembly and served on the National Assembly's science, ICT, broadcasting and communications committee.

Lee in particular stressed that the government's AI strategy must move beyond slogans and policy design into a stage of producing results. She said, "Strengthening national power through AI is now a stage of execution beyond declarations," and added, "For the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration, I will not stop taking steps for the success of the Republic of Korea."

She also said it should now be a time of recovery that goes beyond divisions within the democratic camp in recent months, and said she would play a bridge role even with a small contribution.

As Lee moves to the Blue House, the Rebuilding Korea Party's proportional representation seat is expected to be succeeded by supreme council member Kim Hyeong-yeon (김형연).
