XRP spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw net inflows of $28.14 million in a single day, marking the second-largest daily inflow this year.

On Aug. 27 (local time), blockchain outlet The Crypto Basic reported that demand for spot ETFs remained strong even as XRP’s price underwent a correction.

Based on SoSoValue data, net inflows into XRP spot ETFs amounted to $28.14 million on Aug. 26, the second-largest this year after $46.10 million recorded on Jan. 5. XRP rose to around $1.69 last week before giving back some gains, but ETF inflows continued.

By product, the Bitwise XRP spot ETF drew $13.12 million, accounting for about 46 percent of total net inflows. The Franklin XRP spot ETF and the Canary Capital XRP spot ETF attracted $9.00 million and $6.01 million, respectively. By contrast, the XRP spot ETFs from 21Shares and Grayscale posted neither net inflows nor net outflows.

Inflows have been steadily expanding. XRP spot ETFs recorded net inflows of $13.24 million on Aug. 20, $18.38 million on Aug. 21 and $13.82 million on Aug. 24. Inflows then rose to $23.87 million on Aug. 25 and widened to $28.14 million on Aug. 26.

As a result, XRP spot ETFs posted net inflows for five consecutive trading days, with total inflows over the period calculated at $97.45 million. That exceeds the monthly net inflows in six of the past seven months.

Cumulative net inflows in August stand at $108.87 million, the second-highest this year and the fourth-largest monthly net inflow since XRP spot ETFs were launched. The gap with the current monthly record of $131.94 million in May is $23.07 million. With two trading days left in the month, the record could be surpassed if the recent pace of inflows is maintained.

The trend shows that XRP’s price and ETF inflows do not necessarily move in the same direction. It also confirms that activity in the XRP spot ETF market itself is expanding rapidly as both August trading volume and net inflows rise.
