South Korea's Broadcast Media Communications Commission and the Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAPA) said on Monday they will hold the 2026 Creator Media Fair on Aug. 28-29 at COEX Magok and Magok Plaza in Seoul.

In its eighth year, the event will be held under the theme "Creator Square", and will include creator performances, fan meetings, business consultations and media new-technology experiences.

Participants include domestic and overseas platform companies such as TikTok and Soop, as well as creator Mimiminu and singer John Park.

On the first day, Aug. 28, the programme includes a live talk show by creator Wavillage, a mini live performance by Hyeda, and a comedy show by Lee Je-kyu and Park Cheol-hyun.

A talk show titled "Global media platform expansion strategy" will also be held, with representatives from Chinese digital content platforms Bilibili, Xiaohongshu and iQIYI. It plans to share platform-by-platform expansion strategies and commercialisation plans with creators seeking to enter overseas markets.

On Aug. 29, the programme includes a game matchup by Heopop, a magic show by Niki, a performance by Team Illusion, and a mini live performance by Honttni Band.

The venue will operate as 6 themed areas, including a main stage, an experience zone, a live-commerce zone, a corporate pavilion, a rest area and an outdoor plaza.

At the corporate pavilion, demonstrations of new media technologies such as AI and business cooperation and legal consultations will be offered. In the live-commerce zone, creators will sell products through live broadcasts in partnership with Gmarket.

Kim Jong-cheol (김종철), chairman of the Broadcast Media Communications Commission, said creator media is an open medium in which anyone can be the main character and a new opportunity for youth entrepreneurship. He said he will support sustainable growth and the creation of a sound ecosystem so young people can take on challenges.
