Pearl Abyss said on Monday its open-world action-adventure game 'Crimson Desert' was nominated in two categories at the 2026 Gamescom Awards.

Crimson Desert was shortlisted for two categories: Epic and Best PC Game. Epic recognises a game that makes an impression with a grand narrative and strong gameplay. Best PC Game honours a title that delivers strong quality and a game experience on the PC platform.

The final winners are set to be announced on Aug. 28 based on combined voting by the jury, Gamescom attendees and viewers. Public voting opens at 4 p.m. Korea time on Aug. 26.

Pearl Abyss will take part in Gamescom with Samsung Electronics from Aug. 26 to 30 local time and operate a booth. Visitors will be able to try out Crimson Desert on Samsung Electronics' 6K gaming monitor, the Odyssey G8, at the venue.

Crimson Desert ranked second in cumulative U.S. video game sales this year, according to market research firm Circana. It also ranked first in Steam revenue among new intellectual property (IP) this year, according to global market analysis company Alinea Analytics.

On the Steam platform, it is maintaining a 'Very Positive' rating across user reviews in 13 languages including English, German, Spanish and French. It is also continuing updates and patches.
