Kakao Games said on Aug. 24 it has officially launched the casual brain training game Oneuldoo Hodoo in the South Korean market. The game was developed by Beluga, a startup specialising in cognitive function measurement and treatment.

Oneuldoo Hodoo is the official service name of the Hodoo project jointly researched by Kakao Games and Beluga. Beluga, the developer, is a company specialising in cognitive function measurement and digital therapeutics made up of a research team at Seoul National University College of Medicine, cognitive scientists and brain engineers.

The game is designed to manage five core areas: memory, attention, executive function, language and visuospatial ability. Users can train cognitive function through casual gameplay and check records for each area, it said.

Kakao Games and Beluga signed a business agreement in 2023 and have continued joint research on serious games. Min Kyung-bok (민경복), a professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine at Seoul National University College of Medicine, participated as a joint researcher. A research paper on the dementia-sign detection game Brain OK, introduced in June 2024, was published in the medical journal Diagnostics.

Oneuldoo Hodoo is available for download on Google Play and Apple’s App Store.
