Hancom Group will sponsor the 2026 second Hancom Literature Awards, to be held to mark the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Hangeul Day.

The event is hosted by the Hancom Literature Awards Promotion Committee and organised by the Korea Poetry Literature Association.

This year's competition offers 60 million won in total prize money. The grand prize winner in the integrated category will receive 30 million won. The event is hosted by the Hancom Literature Awards Promotion Committee and organised by the Korea Poetry Literature Association.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Joseoneo Research Society establishing Gagya Day, now known as Hangeul Day, in 1926. The competition will be expanded in scale from last year.

Entries will be accepted in general and university divisions and in a youth and high school division, regardless of whether applicants have made their literary debut. A special youth and high school contest was newly created to identify future literary talent at an early stage. Applicants can submit in 3 categories: free verse (3 poems), essay (2 pieces) and short story (1 work). Winning entries in each category will be formally published as a Hancom Literature Awards collection.

A Hancom Group official said, "The faster technology moves, the more important literary imagination will become in looking into the human inner self and empathising with others." The official added, "For teenagers who are used to fast, stimulating content, the experience of expressing the world in their own language will be an asset that cannot be exchanged for anything else."
