KakaoBank launched a private label credit card (PLCC), the 'KakaoBank Sticky Shinhan Card', with Shinhan Card on Thursday.

The KakaoBank Sticky Shinhan Card offers discount benefits focused on daily life categories such as simple payments, AI subscriptions, memberships and shopping.

Online, it offers a 10 percent discount on payments made via KakaoPay, Naver Pay and Shinhan SOL Pay, and a 10 percent discount on recurring payments for AI subscriptions such as ChatGPT and Claude. It applies a 50 percent discount benefit to recurring payments for Naver Plus and Coupang Wow memberships.

Offline, it gives a 10 percent discount on spending at E-Mart, Traders Wholesale Club, coffee chains, and Olive Young and Daiso.

Discount limits vary depending on the previous month's spending. If the previous month's spending is 500,000 won or more and less than 1,000,000 won, customers can receive discounts of up to 10,000 won per month each for online and offline. If it is 1,000,000 won or more, the discount is up to 25,000 won per month each. If the previous month's spending is 1,000,000 won or more, customers can receive discount benefits of up to 50,000 won per month combined for online and offline, and up to 600,000 won per year.

To mark the launch, KakaoBank and Shinhan Card will also run a 'Get Your Card Bill Back' event through Oct. 31. A total of 400 customers who apply will be selected by lottery and refunded purchase amounts of up to 500,000 won.

A KakaoBank official said the product concentrates benefits on categories customers use frequently and will provide discounts covering both online and offline spending.
