Woori Bank said on Feb. 26 it held a launch ceremony at its headquarters on Feb. 25 for the third cohort of its "Woori Dream. Kku. Dang" programme.
"Woori Dream. Kku. Dang" is Woori Bank's flagship mid- to long-term social contribution project supporting middle and high school students who have strong talent in specific fields such as music, art, sports and IT but face difficulties developing their skills due to financial constraints.
This year, the bank selected and supported talent in AI in line with the changing technology environment, expanding the areas of support. It also bolstered efforts to nurture future talent so teenagers can build core capabilities for the future environment.
Students selected for the third cohort will receive 4 million won per person a year for talent development, one-on-one tailored mentoring from experts, and residential camps including intensive coaching. The bank plans to support scholars' practical growth in diverse and systematic ways.
CEO Jin Wan Jeong (정진완) urged them to "believe in yourselves and keep striving," adding that Woori Bank would be a reliable partner so they can grow into talent that will help create a better world.
