KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation said on Wednesday it selected Dreamspon CEO Ahn Sung-kyu (안성규) and nonprofit group Daehakuro Itda as winners of its Hope Sharing award for the first half of 2026.
The two winners were highly rated for laying the groundwork for future generations to grow with equal opportunities through social contribution activities that narrow gaps in education information.
Ahn, who runs Dreamspon, has provided free information on domestic scholarships worth 7 trillion won a year since 2014. He also set up a one-stop solution that simplifies everything from scholarship programme planning to application, selection and payment. He is also continuing various social contribution activities, including mentoring programmes for youths in underserved regions.
Daehakuro Itda has operated free admissions briefings and tailored counselling on school progression since 2022 for disabled youths and families with disabilities who lack access to admissions information.
So far, it has provided college admissions information to about 3,000 disabled youths and their families through a total of 53 admissions briefings. Its counselling on progression for disabled students recorded an average college admission rate of 97.7 percent over four years. It also made admissions information related to special admissions tracks for people with disabilities available for free on the Daehakuro Itda online community. It is also running online video admissions briefings for families with disabilities living in regional areas and overseas.
The Hope Sharing award is a prize established by KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation to encourage the activities of people or groups that contribute to creating social value through sharing and to spread the value of sharing.
Chairman Lim Jong-taek (임종택) of KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation said, "This Hope Sharing award selected cases that addressed blind spots in welfare and created sustainable social value." He added, "In the second half of the year, we plan to expand award categories to include social contribution activities that combine digital education and technology."
