IBK Industrial Bank of Korea will provide 200 million won to help restore areas hit by torrential rains in southern regions including Geoje and Tongyeong in South Gyeongsang Province.

The bank said on Aug. 19 it donated 200 million won to support recovery in affected areas and to stabilise the lives of displaced residents.

The donation will be delivered to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association. It is expected to be used to support displaced residents facing difficulties due to flooded homes and shops, washed-out roads and damage to farmland, and to restore damaged facilities.

The bank also plans to provide on-site support, including free meals using the "IBK Love Rice Truck" in affected areas, alongside the donation.

A bank official said, "We hope this donation helps residents affected by the heavy rains return to their daily lives," and added, "We will continue our social contribution activities to help communities overcome difficulties."
