Blomics said on Wednesday it has signed a contract for joint domestic service of the mobile massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) EOS Red and EOS Black, which are being developed and serviced by BluePotion Games.

The contract is a strategic partnership combining Blomics’ game service and marketing operations capabilities with BluePotion Games’ content development competitiveness. The two companies plan to provide users with a stable game environment with a high level of completeness through a joint service system.

Based on the EOS intellectual property (IP), the MMORPG EOS Red began domestic service in 2019. Since its launch, it has ranked second in revenue on South Korea’s Google Play Store and in Taiwan’s Google and Apple app markets. It has recorded cumulative sales of 150 billion won and 2,000,000 members to date.

EOS Black, which positions itself as a traditional MMORPG, has highlighted as differentiators a monetisation structure designed to minimise users’ burden from the early stage of its launch, along with its humiliation system and PK content specialised in conflict, including siege battles.

Lee Soo-ho (이수호), head of the game business division at Blomics, said the two companies will work closely together to enhance game competitiveness by leveraging their respective strengths and to sustain a long-term growth trajectory. He said they will continue to seek various collaboration opportunities using the EOS IP through the joint service.
