En-core, an AI and data specialist, said on Tuesday it signed a strategic business agreement with Hanwha Systems to expand their manufacturing AX business.

En-core said the partnership combines Hanwha Systems’ manufacturing industry expertise and proprietary AI technology with En-core’s data governance capabilities. It also stressed that the companies agreed to cooperate on jointly developing industry-specific AI services by integrating Hanwha Systems’ manufacturing ontology expertise and automation technology with En-core’s experience building ontologies.

The companies plan to cooperate on designing and building an ontology-based knowledge system for the manufacturing AX business, implementing knowledge graph-based services, establishing a data governance framework for AI use, building a platform using En-core’s AI Ready Data solution, and jointly identifying and carrying out AX projects.

En-core Chief Executive Joo-min Kim (김주민) said competitiveness in the AI era begins with connecting and structuring data in a form that AI can accurately understand and use, rather than simply possessing data. Kim said the agreement will allow En-core to fully carry out projects connecting and structuring industrial site data in a form suitable for AI use, using its accumulated capabilities in data governance, ontology and AI Ready Data technology. Kim said the company will accelerate AI transformation in manufacturing with Hanwha Systems and create innovative cases that lead to tangible business results.

Yoon-su Kim (김윤수), head of the Value Creation division at Hanwha Systems, said the manufacturing industry, where complex technical information and vast amounts of data continue to accumulate, requires proprietary AI modelling and data structuring technology. He said the company will continue to create work innovations and new business opportunities that can be practically applied on site by combining Hanwha Systems’ industrial AX capabilities with En-core’s AI and data solution technology.
