Anthropic's annualised revenue reached $65 billion as of late July. On Aug. 17, CNBC reported the figure was up sevenfold from a year earlier.

The figure was included in an update shared with investors over the weekend. Anthropic is speeding up growth as demand rises quickly in the enterprise market.

Anthropic is also stepping up preparations for an initial public offering. It confidentially filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in June and is holding preliminary meetings with potential investors. It has not officially disclosed the timing of the listing.

The revenue trajectory is steeper. Anthropic is reported to have presented preliminary second-quarter revenue of $11.5 billion, a 14-fold increase from a year earlier. It previously said in May that annualised revenue had surpassed $47 billion, and revenue for all of 2025 was about $10 billion.

The growth is also visible in the competitive landscape. OpenAI's annualised revenue is reported to have recently reached $40 billion. Anthropic has presented a higher figure to investors, highlighting its scalability in the enterprise artificial intelligence market.

Market attention is focused not only on growth rates but also on whether it can sustain its valuation. Anthropic is in a position where it must justify a valuation of $96.5 billion and must demonstrate business stability to investors alongside whether high growth can continue.

There was also a recent business disruption. In June, Anthropic temporarily cut off access to two of its top models, Claude Fable (Fable) 5 and Mythos (Mythos) 5, to comply with the government's export-control guidelines. The government at the time cited "national security authorities" as the basis.

Anthropic restored service for the models after about two weeks of negotiations. But the move did not eliminate uncertainty over its relationship with the administration. In a blog post at the time, Anthropic said, "We hope to deepen cooperation with the government," and added, "We thank users who were patient during this suspension period, and thanks to the support of researchers and industry partners we are able to offer Fable 5 and Mythos 5 again."

Anthropic's IPO process is expected to test not only revenue growth but also its ability to respond to regulatory risks. With enterprise demand continuing to expand, how steadily Anthropic can run its business between high growth and policy variables is cited as the next point to watch.
