NH NongHyup Financial will combine the capabilities of its affiliates, including banking, securities and asset management, to strengthen competitiveness in its retirement pension business.

NH NongHyup Financial said on Aug. 17 it will reinforce the group’s pension business capabilities in response to growth in the retirement pension market and changes in the system. It plans to link each affiliate’s retirement pension management and wealth management capabilities and expand the scope of pension services by using its agriculture, rural and local community network.

NH NongHyup Financial plans to continue improving the convenience of digital-based pension management and use the network it has built over a long period with agriculture, rural areas and local communities to include customers who find it relatively difficult to access pension and wealth management services.

It aims to reduce blind spots in pension services and contribute to expanding the foundation for guaranteeing old-age income for the public.

According to NongHyup Financial, NH NongHyup Bank’s one-year return on principal non-guaranteed retirement pension products as of the end of June 2026 was 25.04 percent for the DB type, 57.33 percent for the DC type and 59.69 percent for the individual retirement pension plan (IRP). It said the bank posted the highest returns across all DB, DC and IRP schemes among the five major commercial banks for a third consecutive quarter.

NH Investment & Securities is also expanding its retirement pension business, highlighting long-term returns. As of the end of June 2026, the five-year annualised return on principal non-guaranteed products for DC and IRP was 12.57 percent and 11.83 percent, respectively, the highest level among securities firms with more than 1 trillion won in pension assets.

NongHyup Financial said the 10-year annualised return for IRP was 10.35 percent, the highest among all retirement pension providers.

It also plans to use NH-Amundi Asset Management’s global asset management capabilities.

An NH NongHyup Financial official said, "Retirement pensions are a key social asset that supports the public’s stable life in old age." The official added, "Based on financial expertise, global investment capabilities and touchpoints with local communities, we will continue to expand our role."

The official added, "We also plan to actively seek various ways in which finance can contribute by linking with the government's agricultural old-age income guarantee policies currently being pursued."
