LG Display has built an online integrated platform called the Technology Academy to support employee growth as it strengthens technological competitiveness. LG Display said on Aug. 14 it began operating the platform to systemise and share technical capabilities across research and development and manufacturing and production sites.

The Technology Academy consists of nine colleges by organisation: five in R&D and four in manufacturing and production. Each college provides a growth roadmap that sets out job-specific work experience, required capabilities and development directions, along with integrated training courses by level of expertise. It also runs programmes tailored to the characteristics of each organisation, including best-practice sharing sessions, expert lectures and mentoring, to support systematic development of employees' professional capabilities.

The platform also includes customised growth support functions using generative AI. It analyses individual personnel data to automatically generate growth reports and provides leaders with insights and interview guides needed for developing their organisations. Through this, employees can check capability development directions and customised training information based on job-specific growth roadmaps, while leaders can more effectively drive employee development.

It also provides networking functions to promote technical exchanges and collaboration across organisations. It shares key activities and areas of expertise of in-house technical expert groups such as research and expert committee members and technology sponsors, enabling employees to easily connect with specialists in needed fields for technical advice.

Ki-sang Lee (이기상), chief human resources officer, said, "Differentiated technological competitiveness ultimately begins with people." He added, "Through the Technology Academy, we will create an environment in which employees can continue to grow and step up efforts to foster technical talent that will lead future growth."
