Wemade Play said on Tuesday its second-quarter revenue on a consolidated basis rose 9 percent from a year earlier to 32.2 billion won, while operating profit increased 6 percent to 2.6 billion won. Net profit was tallied at 3.6 billion won.
Wemade Play said its second-quarter operating profit rose from a year earlier based on results from key businesses including games, advertising and publishing. Net profit fell due to a base effect.
Including second-quarter results, first-half revenue totalled 64.6 billion won, operating profit 6.0 billion won and net profit 9.8 billion won. For its subsidiary Playlinks, first-half revenue came to 42.7 billion won, operating profit 4.5 billion won and net profit 4.8 billion won, reflecting overseas market results and new business results.
Wemade Play plans to introduce a lineup of 3 new titles as early as the end of the second half. It plans to release its in-house developed match-3 title "Project R" and merge-genre title "Project G", and to introduce a casual social casino game through its subsidiary Playlinks.
Woo Sang-joon (우상준), chief executive of Wemade Play, said, "We are focusing the company's know-how and employees' capabilities on the challenge of new titles for overseas markets and new businesses." He said, "These new titles will be a starting point for realizing new growth engines in overseas markets."
