[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee (이윤서)] XRP has fallen out of the $1.05 to $1.07 range regarded as a key support zone this year, making the defence of $1 the biggest near-term variable.

On Aug. 11 (local time), blockchain media outlet U.Today reported XRP was trading at about $1.02, slipping below an area that had served as the lower end of the previous range.

The decline is raising market caution because it is hard to view as a simple one-day adjustment. The area had repeatedly shown support during a recent sideways move, and short-term moving averages had also underpinned it around $1.065. XRP failed to recover it and continued to post lower lows and lower highs. The first line of defence in the market has effectively shifted to $1.

Chart conditions for a rebound are still not clear. XRP remains below short-term averages around $1.065 and $1.082. Higher averages sit at about $1.178 and $1.370, meaning even if the price attempts a retracement it would face multiple resistance zones in sequence.

Room for further declines also remains. There are not many notable supports below the current price. If selling accelerates, the next demand zone is cited around $0.95, with $0.90 discussed below that. The daily relative strength index (RSI) has fallen to about 34.2, nearing oversold territory, but it has not yet reached the conventional baseline of 30. That suggests the downside is not seen as fully exhausted on technical grounds.

It is notable, though, that price weakness does not stem from a network slowdown. The number of XRP Ledger (XRPL) users was tallied at about 207,028 as of Aug. 10. Active users, which were around 100,000 to 120,000 in mid-July, have recently risen to more than 200,000. The network remains active, but spot demand has not been strong enough to prevent the price decline.

That is prompting the market to see a gap between rising network use and the token's price trend. Expanding user activity can be interpreted positively for fundamentals over the longer term, but it does not guarantee an immediate rebound in the token price. XRP has lost support despite the increase in users, and near-term investor sentiment has not improved.

The key point to watch is whether XRP can regain a rebound baseline. The first area that can be seen as a signal that XRP is pushing back against the recently broken trend is $1.065 to $1.082. Until it climbs back above that band, $1 is likely to act as the key line of defence. If it remains below $1, the decline may be seen not as another temporary adjustment but as a signal of a move to a lower price range.
