Mobility platform Whistle has added a parking and stopping enforcement alert service in Busan's Gangseo district, expanding its Busan-area coverage to 14 of the city’s 16 districts. Whistle on Tuesday announced the launch in Gangseo and said it now has the same service base across most of Busan.

Whistle is a service linked with local governments that sends drivers advance alerts before enforcement against illegal parking and stopping, encouraging them to move vehicles and lowering the likelihood of fines. As of July this year, it had 6.5 million cumulative users. Once registered, users can receive alerts in partnered areas nationwide, including Busan, and it is widely used by drivers who often visit other regions.

Gangseo is a transport hub in Busan, home to Gimhae International Airport and Busan New Port, with development of the new Gadeokdo airport under way. Vehicle movements are frequent not only among residents but also tourists and business visitors, making it a region with strong demand for enforcement alerts.

A Whistle official said, "With the launch of the service in Gangseo, mobility convenience is expected to improve not only for local residents but also for tourists and business drivers visiting Busan." The official added, "We will continue to expand the service area in Busan by broadening cooperation with local governments and provide mobility services that can be conveniently used anywhere nationwide."
