Coinbase has launched a service in Britain that allows eligible users to trade about 4,000 U.S. stocks 24 hours a day, five days a week.

According to a recent report by The Block, from Aug. 6 local time, qualified customers in Britain can buy, sell, manage and hold U.S. stocks in the Coinbase app alongside their cryptocurrency and fiat currency holdings. Users can top up instantly in pounds or USDC, there are no fees, and fractional trading allows investment starting from 1 pound ($1.35).

Coinbase said this is Britain’s first crypto-native U.S. stock trading app.

The launch follows Coinbase introducing savings accounts and crypto-backed lending in Britain.

As part of Coinbase’s “Everything Exchange” strategy, it argued that expanding access could also help boost stock market participation among retail investors in Britain.

Keith Grose (키스 그로스), head of Coinbase’s UK and Europe region, said it had made major progress toward making Coinbase a one-stop service offering stocks, stablecoins and savings on a single platform. He said it plans to roll out new products across Britain and the European Union in succession, and explained that stocks are held by Apex Clearing while orders are executed through Coinbase Capital Markets.

Grose added that a recently obtained UK MiFID licence has expanded the range of products it can offer, including derivatives for professional traders and stocks for retail investors.
