Nexon said on Wednesday its open-licence intellectual property (IP) project, Nexon Replay, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Daegu Digital Innovation Promotion Agency to foster the local game industry.
Under the agreement, the two sides will jointly 추진 an "NEXON REPLAY IP-linked game production support" programme within the "2026 Daegu Global Game Center game content production support project". Eligible applicants are developers headquartered in Daegu or able to relocate there within one month.
Selected companies will sign revenue-sharing and non-disclosure agreements on the same terms as Nexon Replay partner companies. They will also develop games using one of the IPs, "The Legend of Darkness" or "Asgard", and will receive essential development resources such as images and sound.
Nexon plans to participate directly in the screening process for the programme to support the discovery of new titles.
Nexon Replay is an open-licence project that offers creators opportunities for derivative works. Since its beta service began in December, it has been contracting with multiple partners based on major IPs including "Everplanet", "Tactical Commanders", "Elancia" and "The Legend of Darkness", and plans to present its first results within this year.
Jeong-hyeon Eom (엄정현), head of Nexon's Live Division, said he hopes capable game companies in the Daegu area can present successful new titles based on Nexon IP. He said Nexon will continue to build a flexible cooperation structure so more regional developers can take on new challenges using Nexon IP and grow together.
