Cloudflare, a connectivity cloud company, said on Aug. 6 it unveiled Cloudflare Wallets and cloudflare.pay, which assign identities to AI agents deployed on its platform and support online payments within limits set by users.

The company said the services give buyers and sellers a foundation to verify their counterparties and securely handle the entire transaction process.

Cloudflare Wallets and cloudflare.pay support both AI agent identity verification and payments. A Cloudflare account is assigned a unique web address that serves as a stable ID. Users can link their identity to a specific AI agent, and a company receiving a request can use this to verify exactly who approved the request.

Cloudflare CEO and co-founder Matthew Prince (매튜 프린스) said, "The internet is rapidly changing from an environment where people browse directly to one where AI agents conduct transactions. The infrastructure supporting it must evolve as well." He said, "When an AI agent sends a request, it should be possible to verify who sent that agent. Cloudflare supports real transactions by providing an identity that can verify on whose behalf an AI agent is acting, ensuring trust and accountability. This is the identity and payment infrastructure needed for the agent internet to function properly."
