[DigitalToday reporter Jin-ho Lee] The Ministry of Science and ICT's Korea Post said on Aug. 3 it will run a customer appreciation event through Sept. 30 for customers who sign up for post office direct insurance.

The event applies to customers who subscribe to eligible products via the post office insurance website or the 'Itda Insurance' app. Customers can receive up to 30,000 won in Naver Pay points if they meet conditions including paying three installments after joining and keeping the contract in good standing.

Post office direct insurance is an online-only insurance product that customers can sign up for regardless of time and place.

Key products include the 'Post Office Online Cancer Insurance,' which covers cancer diagnosis benefits and anti-cancer radiation and drug treatment without premium increases, and the 'Post Office Online Children’s Insurance,' which covers severe diseases in children and various diseases and accidents for a monthly premium of 10,000 won. It also sells the 'Post Office Online Pension Savings Insurance,' which supports retirement preparation through pension plans tailored to life stages.

The free public interest insurance programme that Korea Post runs to respond to low birth rates, the 'Post Office Republic of Korea Mom Insurance,' was found to have more than 90 percent of subscribers using the direct channel.

Park In-hwan (박인환), head of Korea Post, said, "We prepared the event to express our gratitude to customers who trust and use post office insurance." He said, "We will expand convenient digital-based financial services and practical benefits to raise customer satisfaction."
