[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Trump Media and Technology Group transferred an additional 2,628 bitcoin to Crypto.com, taking cumulative sales over the past seven months to 7,281 BTC.
Cointelegraph reported on Aug. 2 that the company’s bitcoin holdings have fallen to 4,261 BTC.
Trump Media, which operates Truth Social, moved about $165 million worth of bitcoin this time. Blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain, citing Arkham data, calculated that Trump Media bought a total of 11,542 BTC at an average price of $118,522 and began selling part of its holdings seven months ago.
The transfer brought seven-month cumulative sales to about $545 million. The average sale price was $74,855 per bitcoin. Arkham wallet data recorded two transactions in which wallets linked to Trump Media sent 2,429 BTC and 198.9 BTC, respectively, to Crypto.com.
Remaining bitcoin holdings stood at 4,261 BTC as of the time of writing. Their value was calculated at $269.8 million.
The sale came as the U.S. Congress discussed the CLARITY Act, a bill aimed at clarifying the digital asset market.
Critics also pointed to cryptocurrency businesses linked to U.S. President Donald Trump (도널드 트럼프). Official Trump and Melania memecoins, and World Liberty Financial’s WLFI governance token and USD1 stablecoin, were cited as cases where political influence overlaps with private cryptocurrency interests.
