Hancom said on Wednesday, in a preliminary earnings disclosure, that it posted standalone first-half revenue of 98.6 billion won and operating profit of 31.0 billion won. Revenue rose 7.2 percent from the first half of last year.

First-half operating profit fell 9.6 percent from a year earlier, but net profit rose 23.3 percent to 40.7 billion won. The company said the result reflected investment gains from selling a stake in Hancom InSpace.

On a standalone basis, second-quarter revenue was 52.1 billion won and operating profit was 13.4 billion won.

On a consolidated basis, first-half revenue was 183.6 billion won and operating profit was 22.9 billion won. Consolidated revenue rose 24.6 percent, while operating profit fell 7.6 percent.

The company said revenue from AI products is driving growth. Cumulative AI product revenue stood at 13.5 billion won as of end-June. It had already reached cumulative revenue of 10.3 billion won in May, exceeding last year’s full-year AI revenue of 8.9 billion won.

Hancom set this year’s AI revenue target at 31.5 billion won. Its standalone annual revenue target is 210.0 billion won, with operating profit targeted at 60.0 billion won.
