[DigitalToday reporter Jinju Hong] The XRP community has again confirmed the latest figure showing Ripple’s public XRP escrow holdings at about 32.445 billion XRP. Confusion had persisted as the market mixed older data with different numbers, prompting XRP Ledger (XRPL) figures to present a publicly verifiable benchmark.
On July 26 (local time), blockchain media outlet U.Today reported that an X (formerly Twitter) user named Saul recently shared a snapshot based on the current ledger amid controversy over XRP escrow holdings. The data put Ripple’s escrow balance at about 32.445 billion XRP.
After that, Hussein Zangana (후세인 잔가나), community director at the XRP Ledger Foundation, said the same figure can also be confirmed on XRPScan, an XRP Ledger explorer. He posted on X that it can be verified on XRPScan and shared a screenshot of the explorer.
According to the disclosed data, the number of active XRP accounts is 8,019,684. Total burned XRP was tallied at 14,365,934 XRP, escrow holdings at 32,445,002,702 XRP, and circulating supply at 67,526,265,430 XRP.
The community also highlighted that Ripple discloses related accounts transparently, not just the escrow balance. Zangana explained that Ripple provides public accounts and addresses operated on the XRPL through the XRPL TOML file on its website, and that the information can also be confirmed via Ripple’s UNL (Unique Node List) validator signatures.
The disclosed information was reported to include 20 XRP escrow accounts and 2 account clusters, along with some validator and RLUSD issuer addresses. This allows market participants to directly cross-check escrow balances, circulating supply and publicly operated accounts based on ledger data.
The discussion also coincides with Ripple’s expansion of its stablecoin business. Ripple recently launched an integrated platform called Ripple Mint that allows institutional investors to use RippleUSD (RLUSD) issuance, redemption and management functions. The service supports operational management via a user interface and API-based automation.
It is also moving to integrate RLUSD into digital asset settlement infrastructure between institutions by making a strategic investment in an institutional payments network with an annualised transaction volume of more than $2 trillion.
The industry views the re-confirmation of the escrow figures as largely intended to correct outdated data and misinformation circulating in the market. With public ledger explorers and account information disclosed directly by Ripple both available for verification, the same benchmark is expected to be used in future discussions over XRP circulating supply and monthly escrow releases.
