South Korea's KOSPI turned higher during trading on Friday and climbed into the 4,580 range, setting another record high.
The KOSPI ended up 33.95 points, or 0.75 percent, at 4,586.32, marking a record close for a sixth straight session.
The index opened down 22.34 points, or 0.49 percent, at 4,530.03. It briefly fell to 4,500.48 early in the session, threatening the 4,500 level, before reversing higher during trading.
The Kosdaq also ended up 3.86 points, or 0.41 percent, at 947.92, turning higher after three sessions of declines.
