Genians, a cybersecurity specialist, said on Feb. 26 it has secured its first customer in Singapore by supplying its Genian NAC (Network Access Control) solution to a global electronic components manufacturer based in the country.
The company said the customer that adopted Genians NAC is an electronic components manufacturer headquartered in Singapore.
Genians said the customer adopted its NAC as it needed a system to clearly separate its internal work network from external networks in a global operating environment and to consistently manage the security status of connected devices and users. Genians plans to build a policy server at the data centre at the customer's Singapore headquarters and then sequentially expand the scope of application to overseas bases including India, Japan, North America and Europe.
Genian NAC is a security solution that identifies and authenticates users and devices connecting to a network and controls access. It allows real-time monitoring and control of connection entities and endpoint status, and is designed for flexible deployment in wired and wireless environments and global network structures.
Genians plans to use the first customer win in Singapore as a springboard to expand its push in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, including Singapore. It has secured partner companies in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, and expects the new reference to play a positive role in expanding its APAC customer base. It also plans to review additional cooperation opportunities over the medium to long term with various affiliates owned by the customer's parent company.
Naseil (나세일), managing director of Genians' overseas business division, said, "Securing our first customer in Singapore is an important starting point for expanding in the APAC market." He said, "Based on the competitiveness of our NAC that can be deployed stably even in a global business environment, we will continue to expand our overseas references."
