CoinShares launched the first UCITS exchange-traded fund in Europe that invests in bitcoin mining companies. Cointelegraph reported on July 21 that the product is listed on Deutsche Boerse Xetra and, as an Ireland-registered fund, offers European investors a way to invest in listed bitcoin mining companies.

The CoinShares Bitcoin Mining UCITS ETF began trading on July 21 under the ticker MINE. The fund is CoinShares' first European UCITS ETF.

The ETF is run as a physically replicated fund. It tracks the CoinShares Bitcoin Mining Index managed by Solactive AG, a rules-based index made up of listed bitcoin mining companies.

On Deutsche Boerse Xetra, the ETF traded at 19.50 euros per share. Volume was 60 shares and turnover was 1,184 euros.

UCITS is the European Union's investment fund regulatory framework. It is designed to allow funds to be sold across multiple countries under a unified set of regulatory standards.
