Blockchain infrastructure technology company DSRV will supply staking infrastructure to SBI VC Trade, a digital asset exchange under Japan's SBI Group.
DSRV said on Tuesday it signed a staking infrastructure supply contract with SBI VC Trade. Under the deal, DSRV will participate as a service provider supporting the operation of SBI VC Trade's staking service.
Staking is a method in which investors entrust the digital assets they hold to the operation of a blockchain network and receive rewards in return. Service providers are required to have capabilities for stable node operation, security and incident response.
SBI VC Trade is a digital asset exchange registered with Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA) and is a subsidiary of SBI Group. It provides digital asset trading and custody services to institutional and corporate clients as well as individual customers.
It also supports bitcoin trading and custody and management for Japan-listed Metaplanet. Metaplanet is known as a company that holds bitcoin as a key reserve asset.
Japan is assessed as a market with strict regulatory requirements for digital asset operators, including registration, internal controls and user asset protection.
Jiyoon Jung (정지윤), DSRV's chief operating officer, said, "Stable operating capabilities and an understanding of the regulatory environment are the most important standards in the digital asset business." She added, "Based on infrastructure stability, we will expand our competitiveness in the global market."
