Shiba Inu (SHIB) daily exchange outflows shrank by about 65 percent in a day, raising concerns that accumulation is slowing. The net outflow trend remained, but the pace of tokens leaving exchanges slowed noticeably.

U.Today, a blockchain media outlet, reported on July 19 local time that exchange outflows are an indicator of how much Shiba Inu investors are withdrawing from centralised trading platforms. Outflows generally are read as a move toward long-term holding or self-custody, reducing the amount immediately available for selling. By contrast, falling outflows can be taken as a sign that such accumulation is weakening.

A key point in this move was that net outflows were still negative. A negative net outflow means that more tokens left exchanges overall than entered. This is typically seen as a positive sign. Still, as of the time of writing, Shiba Inu remained in net outflow even as the drop in daily outflows widened. The overall direction was still away from exchanges, but withdrawal intensity weakened.

On-chain data show exchange holdings still in a downtrend. The amount of Shiba Inu held in exchange wallets has steadily declined for months, lowering immediately sellable liquidity as well. Looking only at the long-term trend, a structure favourable to easing selling pressure has continued. The dollar value of exchange reserves also continued to weaken gradually.

The issue is speed rather than direction. Markets react not only to which way indicators move but also to the pace of change. A 65 percent plunge in daily outflows versus the prior session is read as a warning signal that investor sentiment may be weakening. In particular, if large holders and short-term traders become less willing to move tokens off exchanges, the key force that has underpinned recent support could also weaken.

There were no clear signs of a sharp contraction in network use. Trading activity held relatively steady. Even so, if an expansion in withdrawals does not reappear, Shiba Inu may struggle to generate enough buying pressure to support a meaningful recovery. Net outflows and a long-term decline in exchange holdings remain a backdrop favourable to the bullish side, but in the short term a slowdown in the pace of accumulation has emerged as a more direct variable.

The next point to watch is whether exchange outflows rebound. If the daily decline in outflows lasts for several more days, Shiba Inu may find it difficult to secure the momentum needed for a stronger upward move. In particular, if volatility across the broader cryptocurrency market increases again, such a slowdown signal may be reflected more sensitively.
