Bybit has launched a locally operated platform in Indonesia after acquiring a majority stake in digital asset company PT Enkripsi Teknologi Handal, known as Nobi.

Cointelegraph reported on July 17 that Enkripsi Teknologi Handal has changed its name to Bybit Indonesia.

Bybit will introduce its services in stages. It plans to first offer 500 cryptocurrency trading pairs. With the launch, Bybit has secured a local operating base in Indonesia, a major cryptocurrency market in Asia.

Indonesia's Financial Services Authority said the number of registered local cryptocurrency users stood at 21.07 million as of February this year. Cryptocurrency transactions in 2025 totalled $26.85 billion, or 482 trillion rupiah.
