As cyber attacks exploiting AI spread rapidly, a new security solution combining AI-based threat hunting and managed detection and response (MDR) has been launched.
AI security firm SentinelOne and MDR specialist Fargonetworks said on July 16 they launched an AI-based joint security operations service called Hybrid MDR at a press briefing.
Hybrid MDR combines SentinelOne's AI-based threat hunting service, Wayfinder Threat Hunting, with Fargonetworks' 24/7 MDR operations service.
Hybrid MDR provides an integrated security operations model that includes threat hunting using Google Threat Intelligence, monitoring by professional security analysts, and a model that can be expanded to network detection and response (NDR) and continuous threat exposure management (CTEM). It is designed to improve detection of unknown zero-day attacks, deep analysis and incident response capabilities without adopting additional solutions, the companies said.
SentinelOne said at the briefing that the spread of AI is fundamentally changing the nature of cyber attacks.
Chris Day (크리스 데이), SentinelOne's senior vice president in charge of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), said a shift akin to the industrialisation of cybercrime is under way. He said attacks are evolving faster and at greater scale as the number of AI agents far exceeds that of people. He said it is becoming difficult to secure sufficient reliability with existing security architectures alone.
He also pointed to AI becoming a new attack surface. He said cases are increasing in which attackers target AI agents to steal passwords or file information or attempt remote control.
Day said an operations system that links response and patching after threat detection is important. He stressed that AI-based threat hunting can more effectively find even unknown zero-day attacks.
The companies cited as a key competitive strength of Hybrid MDR a structure in which SentinelOne's threat hunting experts and Fargonetworks' MDR analysts collaborate like a single security operations organisation. Fargonetworks was selected as SentinelOne's APJ Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) Partner of the Year in 2024 and 2025.
Fargonetworks CEO Young-mok Kwon (권영목) said customers can collaborate with SentinelOne's specialised threat hunting team instead of newly hiring skilled security analysts. He said combining the capabilities of AI and professional analysts enables a higher level of security service to be delivered faster.
Fargonetworks plans to develop the service into an "AI SOC (Security Operations Center)" format by combining analysts' operational capabilities with AI.
To secure stability against false positives that may occur in automated response, the approach separates detection and control. It uses AI broadly in detection, while strictly restricting tasks that require privileges, such as actual system control or changes to production environments.
Hybrid MDR will be provided at no additional cost to existing and new customers that adopt SentinelOne's Singularity Complete through Fargonetworks. Customers can use AI-based threat detection and incident response functions while maintaining existing products, licences and pricing structures.
