Deputy Prime Minister Bae Kyung-hoon (배경훈), who also serves as minister of science and ICT, and the chief executives of the three mobile carriers will hold a second meeting as early as late this month.

The telecoms industry said on July 13 that Bae is expected to chair a "Deputy Prime Minister-mobile carrier CEO roundtable" on July 22.

The roundtable will be their second official meeting since Bae and the three carrier CEOs first met on April 9. At that meeting, the ministry and the carriers pledged to run a quarterly consultative body.

The second roundtable is expected to be held at SK Telecom's headquarters. That is seen as stemming from an agreement at the first meeting for the three companies to take turns hosting future events. Those expected to attend include Bae, Jeong Jae-heon (정재헌), CEO of SK Telecom, Park Yoon-young (박윤영), CEO of KT, and Hong Beom-sik (홍범식), CEO of LG Uplus.

A ministry official said, "We are discussing the schedule and agenda for the meeting between the deputy prime minister and the CEOs of the three telecoms companies," adding, "Nothing has been confirmed yet."
