Wrtn Technologies, an AI service platform company, said on Sunday it has launched a "user committee" to protect users and strengthen service safety and reliability. It held its first meeting on July 10 with CEO Se-young Lee (이세영), the chair and committee members in attendance.

The user committee was set up to strengthen ethical responsibility and the level of user protection required as AI services become part of daily life. Wrtn plans to reflect the perspectives of external experts across service policies and product development, and to run it as a forum for discussions aimed at maintaining user trust.

The user committee consists of four external experts, including the chair. The chair role was taken by Sang-wook Lee (이상욱), a professor in the Department of Philosophy at Hanyang University. Members include Ji-won Sun (선지원), a professor at Hanyang University Law School, Yun-hyung Lee (이윤형), a professor in the Department of Psychology at Yeungnam University, and attorney Hye-jin Hwang (황혜진) of DLG Law Firm.

"If a company neglects user protection, it must pay enormous tangible and intangible costs," Sang-wook Lee said. "As top experts in each field are participating, I will offer candid opinions so that ethical technological innovation and business can be carried out with feet on the ground."

"Wrtn has grown rapidly over the past few years, but as the pace of growth accelerated, the question of whether we are missing any responsibilities behind the convenience of technology has weighed heavier," Se-young Lee said. "We aim for safe and trustworthy services, and we will reflect the voices of the external expert committee members in actual products and policies," he added.
