Sejong Telecom is supporting existing subscribers in switching to Gogomobile as it pursues a phased shutdown of its budget mobile service Snowman.

Sejong Telecom and MVNO Gogofactory said on Thursday they will run the “Snowman x Gogomobile recommended plan” promotion through Aug. 2.

The promotion is a customer protection programme designed to help Snowman subscribers move voluntarily to Gogomobile. Subscribers can keep their existing phone numbers without changing them and, if they want, can also keep their existing network.

The recommended plans consist of a premium plan and a value unlimited plan, based on data usage and usage patterns. The premium plan offers voice calls, text messages and 100GB of data for 45,100 won a month. It includes 300 minutes of additional calling and 5,000 Naver Pay points each month.

The value unlimited plan offers voice calls, text messages and 7GB of data for 17,600 won a month. After using the basic data allowance, subscribers can continue using data at speeds of up to 1 Mbps. It includes 300 minutes of additional calling.

Subscribers can also choose plans that include partner benefits such as Millie’s Library, Naver Pay and Daiso. During the promotional period, customers who sign up to certain plans on KT’s network and SK Telecom’s network will receive a 30,000 won Daiso gift certificate and up to 20GB of additional data each month. Subscribers to certain plans on KT’s network can receive gift certificates for three major supermarkets or up to 20,000 won in Naver Pay benefits.

Lee Eung-jun (이응준), CEO of Gogofactory, said, “We prepared the promotion so Snowman customers can continue using the service with peace of mind at Gogofactory as well.” He added, “We will provide careful support so customers do not experience inconvenience during the transition process.”

Kim Ji-yeon (김지연), a director in Sejong Telecom’s ESG Management Strategy Team, said, “We will do our best to minimise customer inconvenience and support stable service use until the subscriber transfer is completed.”
