LG Electronics is stepping up its push into the global B2B market with commercial laundry appliances that use AI technology to improve washing and drying performance and energy efficiency. LG Electronics said on Wednesday it has launched the 'LG Professional' large-capacity commercial laundry lineup and will roll it out sequentially in major markets, starting with Europe this month, followed by Asia and North America. 'LG Professional' consists of six models: 30, 25 and 20 kg washers, 30 and 25 kg dryers, and an all-in-one washer-dryer combo that handles both washing and drying in one unit.

LG Electronics is strengthening its targeting of B2B customers that need large-capacity laundry appliances through the launch of 'LG Professional'. In Europe, demand for large-capacity laundry appliances is rising at hotels, hospitals and nursing care facilities, as the tourism industry is developed and the share of elderly people is high. Market research firm SkyQuest expects the global commercial laundry market to grow to about $10.8 billion by 2032.

'LG Professional' increases energy efficiency while washing and drying laundry based on 'AI Core-Tech', which adds AI to core component technologies. AI analyses the weight of laundry to adjust water use and optimise drying conditions, cutting the use of time, water and electricity. The washer reduces remaining moisture with high-speed spin-drying of up to 1,100 rpm, shortening drying time. At 1,100 rpm, the drum rotates up to 1,100 times a minute, or about 18 times a second.

LG Electronics also applied a 'Dynamic Ball Core System' for stable operation. The system detects imbalance inside the drum with a gyro sensor and automatically corrects it, reducing vibration and noise during high-speed spin-drying, easing component wear and lowering the maintenance burden. LG Electronics applied a 'Dual Inverter Heat Pump' to the dryer and the all-in-one washer-dryer, using a low-temperature dehumidification method that removes moisture from laundry using heat generated during the refrigerant circulation process. It uses less electricity than a heater method and reduces fabric damage, and the lineup includes the industry's first combo model to use a heat pump and the industry's largest-capacity dryer.

Son Chang-woo (손창우), head of LG Electronics' Living Solution Business Division, said, "Through AI, high-efficiency technologies and an integrated management solution, we will support customers so they can operate their laundry businesses more efficiently, and we will actively expand our business in the global commercial laundry market."
