SpaceXAI has released a new AI model, Grok 4.5, for the first time since it listed. TechCrunch reported on Tuesday that SpaceXAI introduced Grok 4.5 as a general-purpose model for everyday knowledge work such as coding and app development, office and administrative tasks, research and writing.

SpaceXAI cited cost efficiency as a strength of Grok 4.5. It highlighted that token efficiency is twice as high as other major models.

Grok 4.5 is offered at $2 per 1 million input tokens and $6 per 1 million output tokens. Anthropic Opus 4.7 costs $5 per 1 million input tokens and $25 per 1 million output tokens. OpenAI's prices vary by model. Sol, its most expensive model, costs $5 for input and $30 for output, while Luna, its cheapest, costs $1 for input and $6 for output.

Benchmark metrics released by SpaceXAI show Grok 4.5 can compete with rivals' top models but falls slightly short of the very best, TechCrunch reported.

Elon Musk (일론 머스크) compared Grok 4.5 with Anthropic Opus on X (Twitter) and said, "Customer response to the beta test program was good." He added, "Grok 4.5 is an Opus-class model, but it is faster, has higher token efficiency and costs less."
