Lee Dong-beom (이동범), CEO of cybersecurity firm Genians, received the Seokryu-jang grade of the National Order of Merit at the 15th Information Security Day ceremony.
Genians said Lee was chosen for the honour in recognition of key contributions to the development of South Korea's information security market, including achieving import substitution effects with locally developed security technology and strengthening security levels at major national facilities.
After founding Genians in 2005, Lee has developed and supplied security solutions such as NAC, EDR and ZTN based on domestic technology.
Lee said the award was not only a personal honour but one he accepted on behalf of Genians employees and the broader domestic information security industry that have worked together to build a safer cyber South Korea. He said he would further advance the competitiveness of locally developed security technology and lead the next-generation security paradigm to widely promote the status of South Korea's security technology on the global stage.
