Kakao said on Tuesday it will expand benefits for its Card Receipts service, which lets users check payment history on KakaoTalk, and run a shopping points promotion.

Card Receipts is a service that lets users manage usage histories from multiple card issuers in one place. It provides approval details and receipts for card payments via KakaoTalk channel alert messages. It also supports sharing received receipts with acquaintances or splitting bills together. The service is available via the More tab on KakaoTalk, Kakao Wallet and the Card Receipts channel.

Kakao will run a promotion through Oct. 29 that provides shopping points by stage of service use. It will first pay 300 points upon sign-up. After that, it will provide 100 points per card issuer linked, up to 5 issuers. Adding channels will provide 50 points per channel, up to 2 channels. Successful friend invitations will provide 200 points per person, up to 20 people.

Card payment users will also be given chances to participate in a "Chunsik draw" up to 20 times a month. Users can receive up to 10,000 points through the draw. Accumulated shopping points can be used like cash across Kakao commerce services, including KakaoTalk Gifts and Shopping.

A Kakao official said, "Card Receipts is a lifestyle service that supports easier and more convenient management of card usage information on KakaoTalk." The official added, "We will continue to expand various functions and benefits that can improve user convenience."
