Meta has launched Muse Image, the first image-generation model developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs.
Meta said on Monday it unveiled Muse Image as part of an effort to expand generative AI tools across its apps. Muse Image is integrated into the Meta AI chatbot, can interpret complex prompts and use photos as input, and supports users directly editing generated images with sketches or annotations.
Muse Image will be used in more than 30 new AI effects for Instagram Stories. On WhatsApp, users can generate images in direct chats with Meta AI. It will initially be available only in some countries. Meta plans to expand availability and integrate it into Facebook and Messenger.
Basic use of Muse Image on Meta AI is free. Additional generation features are available through a Meta subscription plan.
Meta released Muse Spark, a text and reasoning AI model, in April. Meta also unveiled an early preview of Muse Video, a video-generation model.
