Hancom held a shareholder meeting on Wednesday and approved a charter amendment to change its corporate name to Hancom (HANCOM).
Hancom said its strategy is to accelerate its shift into an “agentic OS” company. An agentic OS is an operating system that connects and controls multiple AI agents in one environment. After rolling out AI solutions and AI agents in succession, Hancom will move to launch and commercialise an agentic OS. It plans to unveil a beta version in the second half of this year and target both domestic and global markets.
Hancom is particularly focusing on the market for a “sovereign agentic OS” that supports the use of AI while protecting data sovereignty. It will also step up its push into global markets starting with Europe. Hancom CEO Yeon-su Kim (김연수) said, "The name change is not a pledge for the future, but a confirmation of a transformation already achieved." He added, "We rebuilt Hancom as an AI company on top of the assets accumulated over 36 years, and now we will use those assets as a weapon to open up the sovereign agentic OS market and challenge global standards."
