Rebellion said on Monday it will acquire Squeezebits, a company specialising in AI inference optimisation.
Rebellion said the acquisition will accelerate its shift into an integrated AI infrastructure company. It aims to offer a single platform that combines NPU hardware with software optimisation and inference serving.
Inference serving is the full process of operating AI models as actual services. It refers to an operational pipeline from receiving requests to running models and returning results.
Squeezebits has optimisation and model-lightweighting technologies that speed up AI models and lower operating costs across various hardware environments.
The two companies have maintained a partnership in inference optimisation. They have jointly developed model-lightweighting technology and dedicated software based on Rebellion NPUs since 2024.
Rebellion said it plans to integrate Squeezebits' capabilities to provide an environment in which organisations can build AI services quickly and efficiently.
