Legal tech company Law&Company said on Monday it signed a strategic partnership agreement with Kakao and Hana Financial TI to innovate digital legal documents.

The three aim to build a service that both lawyers and clients can use by digitally transforming paper-based document certification systems, in line with the government’s drive to expand mobile electronic certificates.

The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency are 추진 중 a “mobile electronic certificate expansion project people can feel” as part of efforts to expand digital transformation based on electronic documents. Law&Company was selected as one of the final project operators.

The three will cooperate to develop an electronic certification service by linking Law&Company’s accumulated legal AI technology and its experience operating the comprehensive legal portal “LawTalk,” KakaoTalk’s accessibility and Hana Financial TI’s document storage technology.

Law&Company will handle practical system building and operations. When a client applies on LawTalk for a document drafting service that requires official certification related to legal matters, the lawyer who receives the request reviews the draft prepared through Law&Company’s legal-focused AI service “Super Lawyer” and sends a mobile electronic document under the lawyer’s name.

Kakao will handle the sending of electronic documents. After completing the document, the lawyer can use KakaoTalk mobile electronic documents to send the requested content to the other party.

Hana Financial TI will permanently store the original text of the sent documents and the certification information.

The three plan to present a new standard for digital legal documents through full-scale service development and create an environment in which anyone can conveniently use legal services.
