Hancom said on Sunday it supplied its AI document-writing solution, Hancom Assistant, to power generation state-run company Korea Western Power.
Hancom said it integrated Hancom Assistant into Korea Western Power’s generative AI chatbot, WeepyBot, to build a companywide smart document drafting environment.
Korea Western Power has conducted a proof of concept with Hancom since October 2024 and decided to adopt it this year after about 15 months of verification.
Hancom Assistant links to about 720,000 internal knowledge data items held by Korea Western Power, including company rules, laws and regulations, work manuals and safety materials, Hancom said. Employees can use related rules and work information in real time while writing reports, enabling them to draft more accurate and consistent documents.
Hancom has recently been expanding its AX business for public institutions and companies. It won the first-phase project for the National Assembly big data platform (AI National Assembly) earlier this year to supply Hancompedia and Hancom Assistant, and completed building an AI knowledge search system for BGF Group this month.
Hancom CEO Yeon-su Kim (김연수) said the project is a case of combining in-house AI capabilities in the public power generation sector with Hancom’s AI technologies. He said the company will respond to demand for AI transformation, focusing on public institutions and corporate clients, and expand the AI platform market based on data sovereignty.
